Leaving Certificate results 2015 were a source of pride and delight for the entire school community of Scoil Mhuire Ennistymon where happiness and relief were certainly feelings of the day and a celebratory atmosphere prevailed. Students began arriving at the school at 9 am reflecting the anxiety and trepidation of awaiting their results but the apprehensions and concerns were rapidly replaced with relief as envelopes were opened and the agonising wait was over.
51 students sat the exam this year and matched or exceeded their expectations as they got their due reward for their hard work. Most are expected to secure their choice of place in Third Level. Scoil Mhuire had some particularly excellent individual results again this year with a significant number of students scoring in excess of 500 points. Principal Seosaimhin Ui Dhomhnallain noted
“that students of all ability levels performed very well and that is really important to us here in Scoil Mhuire.
Students who took subjects at Ordinary Level also performed exceptionally well and we have seen very strong performances in all subject areas”
Stand-out results were achieved in many subjects well surpassing the national average.
“The results reflect our girls’ hard work and dedication to study. I acknowledge the commitment and hard work from our teachers as well as wonderful support from parents and family”
commented Mrs Ui Dhomhnallain as she extended congratulations to the girls, their proud parents and the dedicated members of staff who have been instrumental in the accomplishment of such excellent results. She said she was very heartened by the results and all bodes well for securing university places on Monday next.
“Dedication to organised work, diligence and regular revision paid off for the girls with many exceeding their personal expectations”
she added as she praised the class of 2015 encouraging them to
“be proud of your achievement and approach the next phase of life with confidence and determination. All of us in Scoil Mhuire wish the girls the very best”
